APPROVING THE UNDERLINE PROJECT AS PRESENTED, FULLY SUPPORTING ITS VISION AS PRESENTED, HOPING THAT THE PROJECT MOVES QUICKLY, AND THAT IT IS FUNDED BY THE AGENCIES WHICH ARE PART OF THIS PROCESS, AND REQUESTING THAT DURING THE APPROPRIATE TIME DURING EARLY DESIGN THE PROJECT BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE TARC TO ALLOW FOR THEIR INPUT AND COMMENT.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has established the Transportation Aesthetics Review Committee (TARC) to ensure that the development of major transportation projects in Miami-Dade County incorporates quality aesthetic criteria and professional standards of design, and
WHEREAS, a grassroots project proposal has developed to enhance the bicycle – pedestrian path (M-Path) provided beneath the Metrorail, and
WHEREAS, the TARC Chairman requested a presentation, and
WHEREAS, Ms. Meg Daly, the founder and president of The Underline, as the proposal is known, agreed to make a Powerpoint presentation for the TARC
NOW , THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TRANSPORTATION AESTHETICS REVIEW COMMITTEE OF THE METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR THE MIAMI URBANIZED AREA:
That the TARC approves The Underline project as presented, fully supporting its vision as presented, hoping that the project moves quickly, that it is funded by the agencies which are part of the process; and requesting that during the appropriate time during early design the project be brought back to the TARC to allow for their input and comment.
The foregoing resolution was offered by Chairman Jason Greene and seconded by Steve Pinna, and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
The acting Chair thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted this 5th day of November, 2015.
