Mural Reveal Celebration

Sep 7, 2024
10:30 am | 12:30 pm

You are invited to the Hide & Seek Mural debut by Miami local artists “We Are Nice’n Easy” at The Hammock Playground.

Thanks to the generosity of the Hearst Foundations, The Underline invites you to the debut of our newest art installation: the Hide & Seek mural. Join us on Saturday, September 7th, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Hammock Playground, across the street from 1523 SW 1st Ave. (Google Pin), for a fun morning full of complimentary refreshments, art, and entertainment.

About the Artists:

In the spirit of fun, one of The Underline’s pillars, Hide & Seek, is a mural exploring the intersection of nature and culture within the context of South Florida. Pool float motifs can be seen taking the form of flamingos, sea turtles, dolphins and alligators collaged throughout the mural. These popular icons are overlaid by an undulating pattern that shifts the color palette and distorts the representational imagery towards abstraction, imbuing viewers with a sense of mystery and wonder as they transition in and out of recognizable form.

We Are Nice’n Easy is a collaborative endeavor by artists Allison Matherly (b.1990) and Jeffrey Noble (b.1987). The now husband and wife duo met in Miami, FL, while working at the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami and, in 2015, began collaborating under the name We Are Nice’n Easy.

We Are Nice’n Easy maintains a studio in Miami and has realized several public art projects throughout South Florida commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, Miami-Dade Art in Public Places, Miami Beach Art in Public Places, Broward Public Art & Design, and the Downtown Hollywood Mural Project, among other private commissions.
