Job Summary

The Underline is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supervisor of the Conservancy Corp., a new program specifically designed to help formerly unhoused individuals to re-begin their careers in the maintenance and upkeep of The Underline’s growing linear park. The successful candidate will oversee a team of unhoused individuals performing maintenance tasks in our outdoor linear park. Piloting a new program this year, this role is crucial in ensuring program success while tending to the safety, cleanliness and environment for all visitors while providing meaningful employment opportunities for unhoused community members.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervision and Training:

o Serve as the primary contact for the selection and oversight of the individuals selected to maintain The Underline’s multimodal trail, park and public art.

o Supervise, train, and support a team of unhoused individuals in performing maintenance tasks.

o Develop and implement training programs to enhance skills and ensure safety.

o Foster a positive and inclusive work environment

o Coordinate with the existing maintenance and security contractors.

o Ensure daily duties are being performed in a safe and productive manner

o Evaluate effective of employees and program and write quarterly performance evaluations.

Maintenance Oversight:

o Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily maintenance activities, including landscaping, cleaning, and minor repairs.

o Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance and safety issues.

o Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

· Collaborate with maintenance, horticulture, and facilities teams to coordinate tasks, share resources, and ensure seamless operations across all park areas.

Administrative Duties:

o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and employee performance.

o Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

o Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.

Community Engagement:

o Act as a liaison between the maintenance team and park visitors, addressing any concerns or feedback.

o Collaborate with local organizations to support the well-being and development of unhoused team members.

o Ensure community engagement metrics are tracked and reported regularly

o Help with the development of community impact reports and communication with potential program funders.

Qualifications

· Proven experience in park maintenance or a related field.

· Previous supervisory experience, particularly with diverse or vulnerable populations, is highly desirable.

· A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional certifications in facilities management or landscaping considered a plus.

· Strong organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Job Summary

The Underline is seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Operations Associate to support daily property management and maintenance of our outdoor public space. This role involves conducting regular site inspections, performing general repairs, landscaping, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English and Spanish), experienced in facilities or groundskeeping, and brings a professional, solutions-oriented mindset to a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. A strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with vendors and staff are essential to maintaining the high standards of appearance and service that define The Underline.

Essential Functions

• Mantener relaciones de trabajo positivas con todos los proveedores y contratistas.
• Seguimiento y almacenamiento del inventario del departamento
• Mantener a la comunidad satisfecha con el servicio al cliente y el aspecto del espacio.
• Experiencia con las normas de seguridad de los equipos de manipulación de materiales (MHE) de acuerdo con las normas de los fabricantes de equipos originales (OEM) y de seguridad.

Education and Experience

• Título de bachillerato o GED equivalente
• Mínimo 5 años de experiencia sobre el terreno con formación en escuelas de oficios O 6 años de experiencia total sobre el terreno
• Preferred experience in commercial parks, stadiums, or hotels

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excelentes dotes de comunicación en inglés y español.
• Se valorarán los conocimientos informáticos generales de correo electrónico, Internet y Microsoft Word/Excel.
• Capacidad para cumplir las políticas y procedimientos tanto de The Underline como del condado.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extensively outside in the elements.

• Se requiere flexibilidad para trabajar a turnos.
• Fines de semana y días festivos, según sea necesario.
• Puede ser necesario trabajar horas extraordinarias o fuera de horario para cumplir plazos o hacer frente a emergencias.
