Come to HistoryMiami beginning Tuesday, September 16 through Sunday, November 16 to see The Underline: Make It Yours interactive exhibition.
Friends of the Underline, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is leading the initiative to transform the land below Miami’s Metrorail, from the Miami River just north of Brickell station to the Dadeland South station into a 10-mile linear park and urban trail. When completed, The Underline will be the longest, under rail trail and park in the country.
The initiative has gained a lot of traction and broad-based support. After completing a design studio at the University of Miami’s School of Architecture and being endorsed by the cities of Miami, Coral Gables, South Miami and the Village of Pinecrest, The Underline’s next push is to complete a 10-mile master plan. But we need your help.
Come to the HistoryMiami free exhibition in the Community Gallery and see trail, park, and station conceptual designs from UM students, architects and landscape designers. Write directly on the walls of the exhibition to share what you like, don’t like and what you want. The comments will be collected, compiled and shared on our blog and Facebook. Plus your feedback will go directly into the master planning process.
HistoryMiami is a Smithsonian Affiliated museum and a premier local cultural institution located at 101 W. Flagler Street in downtown Miami. Visit historymiami.org for hours of operation and directions.
