Developers of Miami’s LINK at Douglas Phase I make a multi-year $125,000 Gift to The Underline 

Miami, Florida – August 9, 2023 – Friends of The Underline announces a $125,000 multi-year, Corporate Partner gift from the owners of Miami’s LINK at Douglas Phase I transit-oriented development, a joint venture between 13th Floor Investments, Adler Group and Lefrak. This Corporate Partner Program contribution will support ongoing operations, maintenance and programming for The Underline, Miami’s 10-mile urban trail, linear park and public art destination. 

The Underline is the spine of Miami-Dade County’s future multimodal transit network, transforming the land below Miami’s Metrorail into a first-class public space offering opportunities for fitness, recreation, and cultural engagement. With 14,000 businesses, 250,000 residents, and numerous diverse communities along the 10-mile corridor, The Corporate Partner Program is one way for businesses that benefit from their proximity to The Underline to give back. 

The Underline Corporate Partner Program provides vital funding to support the Underline’s first-class 24-hour management and maintenance services. Environmental sustainability and resiliency are core values of the project, with green infrastructure and native plantings as foundational components. Corporate Partner Program funding supports the ongoing maintenance and management of The Underline’s 120 acres of green space including 500,000 native plants and trees and green infrastructure supporting the environment, pollinators and stormwater mitigation. 

13th Floor Investments, along with the Adler Group, is developing the LINK at Douglas, a 7-acre transit oriented, mixed-use community situated along The Underline at the Douglas Metrorail Station. The project’s first phase, which is now complete and open to the public, encompasses two residential towers with approximately 730 market-rate rental apartments, a brand-new Milam’s market, restaurants, retail, and more than $17 million in public infrastructure improvements, including a fully renovated Metrorail station and a public plaza that connects with a section of The Underline. 13th Floor Investments is now moving forward with plans for Link at Douglas’ second and final phase, an additional two residential towers with approximately 800 units, which is estimated to get underway in 2024.

The joint venture’s donation and continued involvement as a Corporate Partner demonstrates the business community’s active investment in the future success of The Underline.
