A panel discussion about how Human Centered Design and Technology can enhance Public Spaces and Visitor Experiences.
The Friends of The Underline hosted their first tech talk in person on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. It was the first of three technology and Miami public-space themed conversations that explore how the public realm and social good can be served by human-centered technology. The socially distanced series took place outdoors on The Underline’s Sound Stage and Plaza. A free event sponsored by Florida Power & Light Company.
The sold-out event was led by the City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and featured some of the boldest thinkers in technology and public spaces. Panelist speakers included Kelly Jin, who is Vice President of Community and National initiatives. Most recently, she served as chief analytics officer for the City of New York and head of the Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics. Rohit Aggarwala, a Senior Urban Tech Fellow at Cornell Tech and Sr. Advisor for Sidewalk Labs and UrbanSense, an NYC-based consulting firm specializing in the use of technology in public spaces. Jacky Wright, the Chief Digital Officer of Microsoft USA. Jacky is a global technology leader who has made a broad impact in business transformation and on social issues. Our final speaker was Matt Haggman, who is the Executive Vice President of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, where he leads One Community One Goal.
