The Underline, a planned project to transform the underutilized land below Miami’s Metrorail into a 10-mile linear park, urban trail and living art destination, announces it has received $75,000 in donations from Pinnacle Housing Group and 13th Floor Investments with The Adler Group.

The funds will be used toward the first implementation of the project, “Brickell Backyard”, which is a section under the Metrorail from the Miami River to SW 15th Avenue. Amenities for this portion will include picnic areas, a dog park, an outdoor gym, a play area and climbing wall. Additional highlights will be the River Room on the bank of the Miami River and the Hammock Trail Park adjacent to Simpson Park.

Pinnacle Housing Group made a donation of $50,000, while 13th Floor Investments and The Adler Group partnered to contribute $25,000 to The Underline.

“The Pinnacle Partners believe “The Underline” is one of the best examples of a Dade County Private/Public project and we are excited to be one of the civic minded companies to support this endeavor,” said Louis Wolfson, partner with Pinnacle Housing Group. “It incorporates safe biking trails, educational, play and fitness areas, environmentally green initiatives, art in public places as well as economic and real estate benefits which will result along this revolutionary 10-mile linear park corridor.”

“We are thrilled to have wonderful partners and supporters from the real estate community donating to The Underline”, says Meg Daly CEO and President of Friends of The Underline. “One of the key drivers of this initiative is the connection or new development to the future green space to create a rich activated fabric for people to live, work and play.”

Friends of The Underline is a 501C3 non-profit organization advocating to transform the underutilized land below Miami’s Metrorail into a 10-mile linear park, urban trail and canvas for artistic expression to create a safer, healthier, more connected, mobile, and engaged community.  For more information, to make a donation, or become a sponsor visit www.theunderline.org.
